And the weather today is...cranky

Saturday, February 11 - walked 4.5 miles, from Datil to mile marker 75 on Highway 60 and back. So, only 2.25 miles towards our goal, and the weather was surprisingly cold over there, and the wind was in our faces and it was all uphill 'til we turned around and went back. Cynthia was having trouble with her shoe, and I got a blister too. The wind, in fact, bit shrewdly. I didn't take any pictures, although the scenery was fairly pleasant. I walked, but I didn't enjoy it.

What I did enjoy was just before sunset, shooting clays with a 20 gauge shotgun, back home where it was warmer, and the wind had died down.

Bummer. But hey, you walked and are further towards The Goal. And shooting at stuff is the best pain relief for blisters.

Clays are especially satisfying because of the exciting way they shatter in midair when you hit them! Also, shooting at things requires no athleticism whatsoever, other than the ability to stand up ( and sometimes you don't even need to stand up ) and the strength to hold a seven or eight pound gun up to eye level for a few seconds at a time ( and if you've opted not to stand up, you don't have to do all that heavy lifting.)

Very stress relieving. Particulalry if you paint faces on them before I expect :)
