CatronCountyWalk

Catron County, New Mexico has about 400 miles of paved road, and we're planning to walk every mile of it ... eventually ...

Any day now

If you've checked in expecting to see anything about walking, Catron county, or any of the county's various flora and fauna in the last couple of months, my sincerest apologies. Summer heat, gas prices, 4-H projects and various and sundry other small things have gotten in the way of walking and picture taking and posting to this blog.

Walking will resume somewhere around the first of October - my walking partner is chomping at the bit and raring to go, and while I might be able to delay a while longer, I will not be able to delay indefinitely.

Complaining of the heat seems kind of wimpy, when I consider the woman who is walking all the streets ofMcKinney, TX in 102 degree heat with small children - I think the woman deserves a medal for even contemplating it, and it makes me ashamed to be hiding in my cool dark house like a vampire, afraid of a little summer sun.

In the meantime, I am starting to collect pictures of my fellow walkers' shoes. If you are walking or have walked an entire neighborhood, city, county, peninsula, etc., and you are willing to share a picture of your walking shoes, please let me know!

    Love your site!

Don't complain about gas prices! Here, in Europe, we are paying about one euro per liter, so about 5 US dollars per galon.

Maybe I will start a walking blog as you, because I walk for a minimum of 4 miles a day; the bad thing is I use to do one and another time the same tracks!

Thanks for your comments about my kids at my CR blog.

    Willie.
